Semi-Passive UHF RFID Tag

MIKOH is currently developing a new semi-passive UHF (Ultra-High Frequency) RFID tag that will combine the low cost of passive technology with the electronic intelligence and versatility of active technology.

The new tag will offer a number of features and benefits:
  • detection of tag tampering in real time;
  • incorporation of one or more sensors to monitor the tag environment;
  • recording of tag sensor readings and alerts;
  • increased data storage memory (compared with a passive RFID tag);
  • incorporation of true cryptographic technology to protect stored data;
  • lower cost than active tags with similar capabilities.

First samples of the new tag are expected during the first quarter of 2012.

Contact MIKOH if you have specific capability requirements that we may be able to incorporate into the tag development cycle.

CertainID™ is a new technology MIKOH is currently developing that enables biometric authentication of individuals and information over a network, while ensuring the security and privacy of each user's biometric signature.

CertainID™ is applicable to any internet activity that requires secure, reliable identification of a person, rather than just a device. Examples of applications include:
  • Biometric authentication of the sender and recipient of sensitive or classified information
  • Biometric authorization of financial transactions, either web-based or in-store
  • Ensuring the privacy and security of on-line personal records such as medical records
  • Securely identifying participants on social networking sites
  • Protection against identity theft
  • Thwarting internet predators
