MIKOH History

MIKOH was founded in the early 1990s to commercialize proprietary new authentication and digital marking technologies used in self-adhesive tags and seals. The company’s COUNTERFOIL and SubScribe security tags have been used extensively by government agencies and commercial organizations to tag or seal equipment and locations, and to provide anti-counterfeiting protection.

In 2001, MIKOH extended its secure tag product range by commencing the development of Smart&Secure, a proprietary tamper-indicating radio frequency identification (RFID) tag technology. At about the same time the company also expanded its digital marking capability by purchasing a high-speed digital ink-jet technology that can be used to print forms or labels (including RFID tags), and that has been developed further to include high-security features.

In 2007, MIKOH further extended its global reach by expanding its North American operations team. In an effort to provide outreach and solutions to more markets and industries, the operations team has provided MIKOH with sales opportunities and marketing ventures. In parallel, MIKOH's product line has also expanded by introducing the SecureContainer, a reusable container design that is sealed using a pressure-sensitive security seal.
