MIKOH Enhances Physical Security of Pelican Cases

Partnership Applies MIKOH SecureContainer Tamper Evident Enclosures to Pelican Cases in Government and Commercial Markets

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 17, 2008 – MIKOH Corporation (MIK.AX) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Pelican Products Inc. to apply MIKOH’s SecureContainer closure technology to Pelican cases.

The MIKOH partnership includes the manufacturing of SecureContainer closure devices for new Pelican cases, as well as the development of an aftermarket SecureContainer package to retrofit existing Pelican cases. The result enhances tamper evidence and physical security for Pelican cases sold within the government and commercial markets.

The SecureContainer closure mechanism incorporates patented MIKOH technology, as well as intellectual property licensed from the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA). The unique closure mitigates risk by providing a single, tamper evident point of entry. Disposable plastic inserts slide into the closure device and are then secured to each other using tamper evident seals. If the container is opened, the tamper evident seal becomes damaged, alerting the container tracking system to potential product tampering or theft.

SecureContainer works with any pressure-sensitive security seal, but its true potential lies in combination with MIKOH’s patented tamper evident Smart&Secure RFID technology. Smart&Secure provides physical security certainty while also enabling high-speed automated tracking through its RFID functionality.

Under terms of the MOU, MIKOH and Pelican enter a partnership that includes manufacturing of the closure devices by Pelican. MIKOH gains the right to sell Pelican cases equipped with the SecureContainer closure as a channel partner, while Pelican can now market MIKOH SecureContainer closures and aftermarket retrofit packages.
